Teens & Young Adults

"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony"
- Mahtama Gandhi
Let me say it bluntly: In many ways, this is probably the worst time of your life.

You often feel powerlessness, frustration, and confusion: You're trying to figure out your own identity, while you are still dependent on adults physically, mentally and emotionally. It sometimes feels like you're sitting in a waiting room - between childhood and adulthood - waiting for time to pass, while your life is on fire. Oh, and let’s not forget how you’re entire future basically depends on how well you do at school. No pressure at all, huh?

In this day and age, and even more so when living in the east bay, the stress is huge and anxiety and depression are very prevalent in young people such as yourself. Whatever used to make you feel better as a younger child, doesn't seem to "do the trick" anymore.

Who do you turn to for help and support? I
t can be hard to find support in peers because they are facing the same challenges and they lack perspective, and adults often simply don’t "get it”, they are judgmental or condescending, or simply can't be trusted to keep information you don't want anyone to know. All of that can lead to feeling isolated and lonely.

This is where having a therapist comes in.
When you meet with me, you will experience a relationship like no other: Not only am I a caring adult who really "gets it", never ever judges you, and can offer actual help and support, I also keep everything you say between us.
[*This last part is very important. Therapists are obligated by law to keep the content of the conversations they have with their clients confidential, which means they are not allowed to discuss what you tell them with anyone, including your parents. There are just a few exceptions to this rule, but they are truly a few].
Having this extraordinary relationship will help you see yourself, your life and your relationships in ways that would make dealing with everything so much easier, it will break the isolation AND it's actually fun.

Schedule a free 20 minutes phone call with me to figure out whether therapy can help you, and how. And guess what? This conversation is also be completely confidential.
